55th International Deaf Day Message Rally: Suggested by Ernakulum District Association of the Deaf in Kerala State. It showed their vehicles to provide their need to get Driving License.

Muhammed Rafeeq (Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kochi City) inaugurated and opened celebrating and rally from Kochi City Marine Drive to Kochi Fort. So many cops were helpful. It started at 4.30pm to 8pm. After few years, cops will approve for Deaf Driving License.

Kerala State Deaf Women's Convention was held on 30th September, 2012 in Kottayam. It showed the programme of lectures, videos and games. On this picture, Nizar Moideen is the General Secretary of All Association of the Deaf and Ex-Committee Member of All India Federation of the Deaf.

Every year, it gives the awards and donates them and affiliated the companies who support.

And today they donated (Stitching Machine) one Deaf lady who divorced her husband and felt her home alone so starts to work on her own independent and gets her earning life. She was very happy and grateful to Kerala State of Deaf Women’s Convention.

25 Years Celebration of Navratri

The idea to have Navratri functions was first introduced by late Mrs. Anila Parikh in 1987. She felt that it would be a great place to bring the deaf women and their families together. Over the years our Navratri Program has become a great success encouraging our members to participate and polish their skills.

The Bombay Foundation of Deaf Women was founded on 4th December, 2012, 1983 by a few hearing impaired women under the guidance of Miss. Renee Kuriyan of the Delhi Foundation of Deaf Women.

Mrs. Deepa A Virginkar, Aruna J Varadkar, Bakula K Dalal and Aruna A Vaidya managed to bring together about 65 hearing impaired women at Hindu Gymkhana hall, with the ideas of uniting hearing impaired women in Maharashtra. The Bombay Foundation of Deaf Women has adopted the policy of “Hard Toil and Perspiration” and as resolved to work harder for better results, which requires serious thinking and planning.

Today the foundation has 400 members, armed with the ambition of covering all the hearing impaired women and teenagers. With the efforts of the managing committee, members are learning new and different things, like art, craft, stitching, embroidery, cooking etc. They also take part in competitions in different parts of India, write, direct and act in skits and perform folk dances. The Members also participate in exhibitions and selling handicraft goods made by themselves. In this way we strive to encourage, inspire and uplife hearing impaired women through and array of regularly organized activities.

The training provided in stitching and craft leads to employment to those who have artistic talents but have little chance of getting employment. The Bombay Foundation started “Self Service Scheme” on policy of “Earn while to learn” by which it sells products made by the hearing impaired women in exhibitions.

Works of craft and stitching items are one of the regular features of Bombay Foundations activities. During the year through references The Bombay Foundation of Deaf Women participated in INDUS international, Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and other exhibitions. Due to the good quality of stitching and craft products our stall provides great attraction to the consumers but also generates sufficient funds for the members salaries. In brief The Bombay Foundation of Deaf Women is able to create “Hearing Impaired Awareness” through this method.

Our foundation could not have achieved as much without the help of Mr. Damodar A Ambolkar who was a social worker and interpreter for the hearing impaired. Mr. B J shah another social worker who pushed us to develop new activities and Mr. Zal Tavakkuli who was a great philanthropist to our organization.

The Bombay Foundation of Deaf Women also participates in the “All India Festival of Dance, Mime, Drama for the Deaf” which is held every year for 4 days in different cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Tata Nagar, Bangalore etc.

This year the organization is hoping to locate a space where committee meetings and workshops can be held for which we need your support, which we are sure you will extend to us for the betterment of our society.

SIGN MUSIC : WORLD SEE ME CELEBRATE

Mime, Drama, Short documentary movies and many other (Deaf Team) were performed. So many people around 2000 were attended this programme and loved to watch. They had a great time and enjoyed.
