Regarding our workshop, it was co-organized by Malteser International and Lift You Up at a conference hall of Cong Doan Hotel in Hanoi on 20th October.

37 participants attended the workshop, including representatives from:

• Ministry of Education and Training; Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
• Vietnam Federation of Disabilities, Association for the Support of Orphans and Handicapped (ASVHO) of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City;
• Vietnam Blind Association and its branches in Hanoi, Hue and Da Nang;
• Disabled People’s Organizations of Hanoi, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and other disability working agencies;
• Members of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group;
• People’s Committee; Disaster Prevention and Control Department;

Department of Labour, Invalid, and Social Affairs of Quang Tri and Quang Ngai province; Educational institutions; non-profit organizations; and enterprises

In this workshop, representing Lift You Up, I introduced our DAISY disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction manual in English and Vietnamese and demonstrated the playback on the PC and Android device.

Another Lift You Up member gave a presentation on our future plan of producing a variety of DAISY books for the community of print disability in Vietnam. It was our pleasure to receive a lot of appreciation, concern, feedback, and expectations from the audience.
