I am very delighted to share wonderful news. In order to defend the rights of individuals with disabilities, I am one of the candidates running for the provincial assembly in 2022 on behalf of deaf indigenous women with disabilities. Although I was shortlisted among five nominees, I did not secure a seat due to insufficient votes.Recently, I have been officially appointed as a member of the Gandaki Province Assembly following the unfortunate passing of a fellow nominee.
I am currently the parliamentarian representing the provincial assembly member of Gandaki province because one of the parlementerian whose name was on the list as a nominee passed away a few weeks ago.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Duskin Family for their invaluable support during my 10-month journey in Japan, where I learned about disability rights, policies, accessible infrastructure, and advocacy. Your contribution has been instrumental in my success. After returning to Nepal, it was challenging to engage at the advocacy level, but I persevered and worked to elevate political issues ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities.
I am sharing pictures from my involvement in the Provincial Assembly, including the event where I took my oath. I pledge my commitment to advocating for inclusive policies, legislation, and rights for persons with disabilities in Nepal.
